Andreas Duit works in the field of comparative environmental politics, with special focus on the role of the state in addressing environmental problems. He mainly uses quantitative methods and cross-national panel data, but has also engaged in complex system analysis and survey data analysis. Duit is a Professor at the Department of Political Science, Stockholm University and Guest Professor at Political Science Unit, Luleå University of Technology, and has also been a visiting scholar at the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis at Indiana University, Bloomington, and Department of Political Science, University of Washington. Duit has received funding from FORMAS, MISTRA, the Swedish Research Council, and Marcus and Marianne Wallenberg foundation.  

Duit is currently leading the research projects GREENTRANS (The Great Green Transformation – Politics, Markets and Civil Society in the Anthropocene, funded by the Marcus and Marianne Wallenberg Foundation) and THERAPY (The Electoral Ramifications of Environmental Policy, funded by FORMAS).
